We are re-opening in July! Currently limited to people from one household only
Snowdonia Nordic Walking was launched in 2020 following an increase in the demand for outdoor adventures and activities in the area. Based in an area already familiar to many walkers and climbers, we bring this new and exciting option to everyone ranging from complete beginners to seasoned pros.
We operate from a working farm in the heart of Snowdonia, with limitless beautiful walks on our doorstep - making this the perfect place to Start Your Nordic Walking Adventure in Wales! We take groups between 2 and 10 people which ensures a personal experience and ongoing support, tuition and attention from your instructor. Our walks take in the sights of some of Snowdonia's most beautiful mountains and your instructor will be happy to share local information, history, and insight with you as we walk.
Lansiwyd Snowdonia Nordic Walking yn 2020 yn dilyn cynnydd yn y galw am anturiaethau a gweithgareddau awyr agored yn yr ardal. Wedi ein lleoli mewn ardal sydd eisoes yn gyfarwydd i lawer o gerddwyr a dringwyr, rydym yn dod â'r dewis newydd a chyffrous hwn i bawb yn amrywio o ddechreuwyr llwyr i gerddwyr profiadol.
Rydym yn gweithredu o fferm yng nghanol Eryri, gyda theithiau cerdded hardd di-ben-draw ar ein stepen drws - gan wneud hwn y lle perffaith i Gychwyn ar eich Antur Cerdded Nordig yng Nghymru! Rydym yn cymryd grwpiau o rhwng 2 a 10 o bobl sy'n sicrhau profiad personol a chymorth, hyfforddiant a sylw parhaus gan eich hyfforddwr. Ar ein teithiau cerdded byddwch yn gweld rhai o fynyddoedd harddaf Eryri a bydd eich hyfforddwr yn hapus i rannu gwybodaeth leol, hanes, a dealltwriaeth hefo chi wrth i ni gerdded.
Jenny is an INWA qualified Nordic Walking Instructor and trained in Emergency Outdoor First Aid so you will be in safe hands!
She is originally from nearby Llandudno and moved to Snowdonia in 2015, after spending 10 years living in various cities in England (and six sunny months in Australia!) "Having been away from the area, and then moving back, really makes me appreciate the natural beauty and the great outdoors so much more. I really wanted to share this with people. Moving here was was a complete change from living in cities like London - but one I am grateful for every day."
An experienced triathlete and skier, Jenny first tried Nordic Walking with a local group, whilst looking for a way to keep fit in the off season. "I went to my first session, and was amazed at the workout I got. I considered myself pretty fit, but the speed of the walk was a surprise, and I discovered muscles I never knew I had!"
After having two children in quick succession she was also seeking an effective alternative to standard cardio exercise, that would be kind on the joints and still help maintain fitness levels. Nordic walking fit the bill perfectly! "Most of all I love getting out in the fresh air and speaking to people - it's such a mood booster and I never regret a walk."
Jenny speaks English and Welsh so can deliver your session in either language - and is always happy to teach visitors a few useful Welsh words or assist with tricky pronunciation!
The original aim of launching Snowdonia Nordic Walking was to share this accessible and enjoyable sport with either local people, or those visiting the area. It's a chance to view some spectacular scenery whilst also learning a new skill and getting information about a beautiful and interesting area. The hope is that you leave us having made a connection, as well as getting a great full-body workout!
